This Espresso Smoothie is a blend between a morning coffee and a nutritious breakfast. If you’re on the run in the morning, this is for you.
The idea for this recipe has been in my notes for well over a year and I finally got around to creating and sharing it! This Espresso Yourself Smoothie is inspired by all the cold cups of coffee that have been repeatedly reheated in the last year of working from home. It also pays tribute to the leftover coffee in the pot that ends up wasted down the drain. We may as well utilize the cold cup of joe by repurposing it into a delicious smoothie! And with this warm weather lending its way to the season of iced coffees, it’s the perfect time to try a fun twist on a classic.
Here is what you need to make this Espresso Smoothie:
So, if you are looking for an energizing morning smoothie or a pick-me-up midday give this a try!
How about using decaf coffee and enjoying it as an afternoon or evening treat? Or devour it as a smoothie bowl, topped with my Coconut Almond Granola.
If you’re looking for an ultra protein-rich version, consider adding 1/2 – 1 scoop of protein powder. Chocolate, vanilla or plain flavours would all work well in this recipe. I recommend my clients purchase third-party tested protein powders. If you need help choosing a product that works well for you, take a read through my educational blog posts here and here.
Refreshing, tasty, nutritious and caffeinated. Espresso yourself in whatever way suits you best!
