These Pretzel Peanut Butter Bites are a quick and easy snack that combines both sweet and savoury flavours all in one bite! With only 5 kitchen staples for ingredients, you will be able to make these time and time again, no baking required!
Ingredients needed
You only need 5 ingredients for this recipe and most of them are likely already in your kitchen!
Mini pretzels
Mini pretzels help make this a true bite-sized snack. However, if you only have regular or large pretzels, you can use these instead.
Banana
It helps the mashing process if the banana is a little ripe (but not overly ripe that the peel is mostly brown).
Peanut butter
I use regular Kraft smooth peanut butter in this recipe. You can use an all natural peanut butter if that’s what you have or prefer, just make sure it’s not super runny, or else the filling will leak between the pretzels.
Chocolate chips
I use semi-sweet chocolate chips but you could use milk, dark or even white chocolate chips. These will be used for the chocolate drizzle on top of the pretzels.
Cinnamon
This adds a cozy flavour to the snacks but you can omit it if you prefer.
How do you make pretzel peanut butter bites?
These Pretzel Peanut Butter Bites are very easy to assemble and are a no bake snack. This makes them perfect for summer days when you don’t want to turn on the oven! Here’s how to make them:
In a medium bowl, mash the banana and then add the creamy peanut butter. Mix this together until combined.
Scoop about a teaspoon of the banana and peanut butter filling on top of one pretzel. Add another pretzel on top of the filling so it’s a mini pretzel and peanut butter filled sandwich. Place this on a plate or a baking sheet lined with parchment paper (this will catch the excess chocolate drippings).
To a microwave safe bowl, add the chocolate chips and microwave in 20-30 second increments until it’s melted. Remember to stir the chocolate chips in between each interval.
Drizzle the melted chocolate on top of the pretzel bites, adding whatever amount feels right to you.
Enjoy them immediately or pop them in the fridge for 30-60 minutes, or until the chocolate is hardened.
How to store
Once you’ve made these Pretzel Peanut Butter Bites, you have some storing options.
Fridge: Depending on how you like to enjoy them, I first recommend storing them in an airtight container and keeping them in the fridge for up to 3-4 days. This way the chocolate doesn’t melt but they are still easy to bite into.
Freezer: If you want them to last longer, or if you prefer a colder treat, you can keep them in the freezer. Again, make sure they are in an airtight container. They will last in the freezer for about 1-2 months.
Be careful when biting into them if they are frozen, because the filling hardens quite a bit! If you have sensitive teeth, you may want to wait for a few minutes after taking them out of the freezer to eat them.
