This Everything But the Bagel Seasoning is an easy way to add flavour to your meals and snacks. Sprinkle it on avocado toast, eggs and more to amplify your dining experience!
This seasoning recipe is really easy to make at home. All you need are these 5 kitchen staples:
All Nutrition Tip: get these ingredients from your local bulk store to stock up while cutting down on costs.
The first time I purchased Everything Bagel Seasoning was from Trader Joe’s in Boston. Since there aren’t any Trader Joe’s franchises in Canada (yet, fingers crossed!), I decided I needed to make my own seasoning recipe.
Since the trip to Boston, which was back in 2018, there have been a few Canadian companies release their own version of the seasoning blend. You can now find it in some stores in Canada like Walmart and Superstore.
If you don’t have access to these stores, or if you want to make your own homemade version of this seasoning blend, this is the recipe for you. Save your money on a grocery store run or trip to the States and spend 5 minutes whipping this up at home!
You can absolutely make larger batches of the EBTB seasoning! I like to do this when I plan on using it in a variety of recipes. You can double or triple the amounts of the ingredients to make a big batch.
If you do plan on making a larger amount, I recommend storing it in an airtight container and keeping it in the fridge. This way, you can extend the shelf life and avoid any food waste.
This seasoning is gluten free, as long as you make sure the herbs and spices you use are certified gluten free. Sometimes companies will use gluten as a functional ingredient, for example an anti-caking agent, but this is required to be included in the ingredient list.
If the only ingredient in your seasoning is the singular spice (for example, “poppy seeds” or “sesame seeds”), then you can be confident that this is gluten free.
Everything but the bagel seasoning is so incredibly versatile. It can make a flavour impact on any meal or snack! I have included some of my favourites below:
Whatever way you decide to use this EBTB seasoning, I’m confident it will taste delicious! Have fun experimenting and let me know what your favourite combination is.
I hope this Everything But the Bagel Seasoning makes you excited for meal and snack time. Don’t forget to check out some of these other condiments that I’m sure you will love:
