This Yogurt and Dill Grilled Marinated Chicken is the best summer BBQ recipe. You only need 4 ingredients and a grill for the dinner of the season!
It seems as though chicken is one of the most common protein staples that people rely on throughout the week. It’s versatile and easy to cook. However, that doesn’t mean it’s always the most flavourful or enjoyable.
There are many times when I have ordered or cooked chicken myself and I really didn’t think there was much to it. Here at All Nutrition the goal is to create delicious food that makes us feel good!
This Yogurt and Dill Marinated Grilled Chicken is my new favourite way to cook chicken. It is flavourful, moist (say goodbye to dry chicken!) and super simple to make.
These 4 ingredients will come as no surprise! All you need is:
The act of marinating is simply mixing the chicken with the sauce or other ingredients, which allows for a more noticeable flavour after cooking. I know you are a busy person so thankfully, this chicken doesn’t need much time to marinate.
All you have to do it mix the chicken, Greek yogurt, dill, garlic, salt and pepper in a bowl and mix until the chicken is evenly coated.
You are welcome to cover the bowl and place it in the fridge for a couple of hours (up to overnight) but it’s not entirely necessary. If you’re in a pinch for time, you can mix it together and immediately place it on the grill. Dinner will be ready in less than 30 minutes!
I will admit that I grilled these chicken breasts on our Ninja appliance that is both an air fryer and a grill. Because it’s a smaller unit, it heats up and cooks food quickly. The grilling time will depend on the appliance you use (BBQ, smaller indoor or outdoor grill, etc.) as well as the size of the chicken breasts. If the chicken breast is thick, please allow an extra couple of minutes to ensure it is properly cooked through.
For this Yogurt and Dill Marinated Chicken, I cooked it for 6-8 minutes on each side.
To give you piece of mind, you might consider investing in a meat thermometer. The safe internal cooking temperature for chicken is 165°F.
TIP: if the chicken is charred on the outside but still not reaching 165°F, your grill is likely too hot. This can result in heating the outside of the chicken too quickly without fully cooking the inside.
Serve this grilled chicken with your favourite summer side dishes and enjoy!
