Hot Honey Brussels Sprouts with Feta

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2 tsp chili flakes
  • 4 cups brussels sprouts rinsed and cut in half
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp each of salt and pepper
  • Feta cheese

Instructions

Hot Honey

  • In a small saucepan, add ½ cup of honey and 2 tsp of chili flakes. Bring to a boil and stir for 20-30 seconds.
  • Remove from heat and pour into a glass jar. For a more mild honey, strain out the chili flakes as you pour it into the jar.

Brussels Sprouts

  • Preheat the oven to 425℉ and line a baking sheet with tin foil or parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, add the brussels sprouts and drizzle in the olive oil. Add the garlic powder, salt and pepper and mix until the brussels sprouts are well coated.
  • Pour the brussels sprouts on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 18-22 minutes.
  • Transfer the brussels sprouts to a serving dish. Drizzle on the hot honey and crumble feta cheese on top. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Substitutions:

  • Olive oil
    • You could also use any kind of oil that is mild in flavour and is appropriate for temperatures of 425F (ex. avocado oil)
  • Feta cheese
    • If needed, opt for a lactose-free feta cheese.
