I don’t know about you but I LOVE adding something crunchy to my smoothies and smoothie bowls. It makes me feel much more satisfied compared to if I were just to drink the smoothie.
Making granola from home is a great alternative to store-bought options because you can control exactly what goes into it and often times, it’s cheaper as a bulk recipe.
Many packaged granolas run high in the added sugar category, which has the potential to increase blood sugar levels quite rapidly. Without the addition of protein- or fibre-rich foods, this increased blood sugar level can then drop, causing large fluctuations that may result in fatigue, irritability, cravings, etc.
This Vanilla Coconut Granola is a fantastic addition to any smoothie, cereal, oatmeal or yogurt dish. It provides substantial protein and fibre along with a comforting taste that is sure to start your morning off in the best way.
